TPR Team Pedercini were on track at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya yesterday and today with their #WorldSSP300 rider Johan Gimbert, keen to kickstart their first full season together in style.
Completing more than 70 laps across the two days, Gimbert improved significantly to end the #CatalanTest close to the top twenty on the overall classification and buoyed by the progress made.
Working closely with former World Superbike EVO Champion David Salom, an integral part of the TPR Team Pedercini squad, Johan was able to put into practice the advice given by the former WorldSBK and WorldSSP front runner, giving the entire team optimism ahead of the season opener at MotorLand Aragon in May.
Johan Gimbert: “The first day was very good. We tried many things to give me a better feeling on the bike. The lap time was not bad because we didn’t use the full spec engine, so I am happy. Tuesday, we found a really good direction with the front of the bike. I was able to improve the lap time and I had a great feeling working with David (Salom) and Lucio (Pedercini). Now I will stay to watch the Superbike test with the team for two days before going to Aragon for another test. I want to thank all the team and my sponsors for all!”
Lucio Pedercini: “We are really happy to end this Catalan Test with Johan in a positive way. He found a good feeling with the new suspension and took all the feedback and advice from David and me which is encouraging. We ran with a completely standard engine which is even more pleasing. Next week we will go to Aragon with Johan to allow him to arrive at the first race ready and comfortable. A big thanks to the whole team and to Johan who did a great job these past two days!”
