A different theme will be set annually for WMD, requiring member states to hold celebrations on March 23, so as to encourage individuals from all countries learn and support the activities of the World Meteorological Organization, and arouse people's attention as well as passion of meteorological work together with publicizing the importance of it, and develop the application of Meteorology in aviation, navigation, water conservancy, agriculture and other human activities.
The Theme of 2021 WMD：Ocean, Our Climate and Weather
Global warming has increased the number of natural disasters caused by extreme weather all over the world, resulting in heavy casualties and economic losses. However, people are able to obtain crucial information about weather, climate and water through the comprehensive global observation, in other words, although natural disasters cannot be prevented by mastering the information, it can achieve early prevention and minimize the impact of disasters.
In order to protect the environment, please separate the garbage and reduce the use of plastic bags, and do not litter. The fact that the earth is our home, just like our mother, she provides us with abundant resources and conditions for our survival. Meantime, we also are the master of the earth, and we should treat it good as we are kind to ourselves. Besides, we are supposed to be duty-bound to improve the earth's environment, if everyone has the environmental awareness, a brand new and beautiful world will be certainly created!
