The highly anticipated WSBK Round 10 concluded at the Aragon Circuit in Spain, where reigning champion Toprak once again delivered an extraordinary performance, equaling his own record of thirteen consecutive wins, the longest in WSBK history, set last year. Prior to this event, Toprak had never won at the Aragon Circuit, but his results of one victory and two second-place finishes have once again set multiple historical records, allowing him to maintain a strong lead in the points standings with a 36-point advantage.
The First Round of The Main Race——Breaking Through, Equaling the Historic Record
Saturday's first race was one of the most thrilling duels of the season. Facing the long back straight of the Aragon Circuit, Toprak showcased incredible fighting spirit. From start to finish, he engaged in an 18-lap battle with his competitors. In the final lap, an opponent attempted a fierce attack using the advantage of speed on the straight, but Toprak executed his signature late braking technique and perfect cornering line to secure a breathtaking victory by a mere 0.03 seconds at the finish line.
This victory was significant, marking Toprak's first-ever win at the Aragon Circuit and his thirteenth consecutive win of the season, thus etching his name into the history books once again.
WSBK Superpole Race——Close Contest, The Champion's Brilliance Shines On
On Sunday morning, the Superpole race saw another peak showdown, a crucial battle for Toprak to potentially set a new historical record, facing fierce challenges from his rivals. Throughout the race, Toprak and his competitors were nearly inseparable, frequently exchanging thrilling attacks and defenses. As they approached the final corner of the last lap, Toprak was still in the lead but was narrowly overtaken by an opponent in the final moments as they raced toward the finish line. Ultimately, he finished in second place, just 0.105 seconds behind, regrettably missing the chance to set a new record.
The Second Round of The Main Race——Steady and Sure, Consolidating Championship Points Lead
In the second main race on Sunday afternoon, Toprak adjusted his racing strategy. He maintained a steady pace and refrained from excessive battling with his competitors. Toprak finished in second place again, stepping onto the podium and further solidifying his lead in the championship points.
